What is DCP?

DCP stands for Digital Cinema Package. It is a set of digital files that contain a film or video that has been specifically encoded for digital cinema projection. DCPs are the modern equivalent of 35mm film prints and have become a worldwide standard for digital cinema projection. The files in a DCP are optimized for high-quality playback on digital cinema projectors and are designed to provide the best possible audio and visual experience for moviegoers. DCPs are widely used in movie theatres worldwide to display high-quality digital movies and are the preferred format for many film festivals and independent cinemas.
